In the beginning it was called "boia cross" and was not considered a sport. The challenge was only a game for daring boys that ventured into the rapids rivers using  truck tire tubes, but over time the numbers of supporters of the float was increasing cross developing as special equipment.
The  tube is coated with loops and fit safety handle, for rowing uses its own arms with a special gloves to help the movement 

Acqua The Ride was established in 2004 Glicério by Desema Turismo de aventura. Caio and Cris, owners of ABAR came to Glicério   to help  the study and implementation of this sport.In Rio, only in Parancambí Glicério exieste the activity of acqua ride.
According to the athletes who come from Brazil, Minas Gerais and Goias, in Brazil there is anywhere a place so good for the Acqua Ride like Glicério. Water clean and good temperature, walkways around the river and liluminated, allowing the employes leve the job at 17:00 hrs, come to the moutain, do the sport and return to Macaé about 22:00. 
To do the activity is necessary to be using a  closed shoes that can get wet. We also bring clothes for bathing and  exchange, towel, sunscreen and repellent.
